Body weight and mattress firmness

Above title
Another fundamental step in choosing a mattress is body weight, which should be related to the firmness of the mattress in the right way, without mistakenly falling into the association HEAVY WEIGHT = CHOOSE A FIRM MATTRESS. Regardless of your weight, the ideal mattress should support your body as needed, with support calibrated to your weight, adapting without yielding. The mattress should not be firm if you weigh a lot, but rather more "supportive", supporting without compressing.
Wanting to discuss mattress support for weight ranges in relation to height, we will disregard BMI (Body Mass Index) and instead focus on understanding what kind of mattress you need based on your weight and physicality, setting aside personal preference for now, as that will be your final touch in the ultimate mattress selection.
Body Weight
Slender physique, for example, 175 cm tall and weighing 70/80 kg? You can choose medium-firm mattresses with a firmness rating of 5/10 or 6/10, or higher only if you sleep on your stomach or prefer firm, non-conforming mattresses. If your weight is normal, pocket sprung and memory foam mattresses, or memory foam without springs, are suitable and recommended; avoid traditional springs and firm or extra-firm mattresses;
Mattresses for people with normal body weight
If you are at your ideal weight, or slightly underweight, the recommended mattresses are therefore medium-firm and their variations, with a crucial upper comfort zone (the upper contact layer of the mattress), which can be a soft top pad, a 3 to 6 cm layer of memory foam, or a topper.
Air Fresh Tech, a three-layer memory foam mattress, two of which are memory foam, for approximate body weight between 60 and 100 kg. Go to the Air Fresh Tech page;
Gran Paradiso, not a soft mattress, but pleasantly supportive with a welcoming upper comfort zone that adapts well, providing the right mix of firmness and comfort. Go to the page
Mattresses for 100 kg body weight
Weighing 100 kg is above ideal weight if you are not 180 cm tall (it also depends on BMI, body mass index). If this is your case, if you weigh about 100 kg and are between 180 and 190 cm tall, do not choose Firm or medium-Firm mattresses, as they could create pressure points. Here are the recommended mattresses for weights over 100 kg based on height:
Mattress for people weighing 100 kg and over 180 cm tall
Gran Paradiso is the mattress for you if you sleep on your side and weigh about 100 kg and are about 180 cm tall. Being soft only in the upper part, it can support without compressing even at 100 kg.
Weight over 100 kg
If you are overweight, weighing over 100 kg, we recommend the pocket spring mattresses from the King 800 series, which are able to provide firm support without generating excessive tension and pressure, specifically:
King Air Superior (without memory foam);
King 800 Sanitized, with memory foam;
King 800 Superior, more comfortable at the top layer in contact with the body.
If you need more support, Kilimanjaro is the most supportive mattress, also suitable for people over 150 kg, while Gransasso is most suitable for weights between 90 and 130 kg if you desire firm comfort that is more linear and less conforming than pocket spring mattresses:
