The types of slatted bed bases are divided into:

Orthopaedic bed bases: inflexible slats, wide or narrow but always with more than one reinforcement crosspiece for a rigid support. Orthopaedic bed bases with wide slats and double reinforcement crosspiece are recommended for spring and independent spring mattresses, for memory mattresses with rigid support;

Ergonomic bed bases: flexible, arched slats, curved upwards, for an elastic, non-rigid support. Ergonomic bed bases, with multi-elastic slats, are very suitable for latex and memory mattresses with soft or medium support.

How to choose the most suitable bed base for the mattress? If you are looking for rigidity, or if your mattress needs more push or not to sag, choose slatted bases with two or three crosspieces under the slats, if you want a high-performance bed system, with a combined base and mattress for maximum adaptability, choose flexible slatted bases.
