Certified mattresses, pillows and mattress protectors
The mattresses chosen by migliormaterasso.it are certified by the most important independent bodies in the textile sector. The Gabrielli company holds all the following certifications, which specifically concern the raw materials of its products, for example, for the maximum peace of mind of consumers.
Dorelan also holds many of these certifications.
Other companies, such as Simmons, however, do not adopt external certifications, believing they can rely on their own name as a direct guarantee for their customers.
Oeko-Tex Standard 100 Certification
Mattresses, pillows, mattress protectors and other textile articles are, in many cases, certified with the Oeko-Tex Standard 100 label.
The OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 is an independent testing and certification system for the entire textile world, from raw materials to semi-finished and finished products at all stages of processing. Examples of certifiable articles: raw and dyed/finished yarns, raw and dyed/finished woven and knitted fabrics, ready-made articles (clothing of all types, home textiles, bedding, terry cloth articles, textile toys, etc.).
Criteria: Tests for harmful substances include:
legally prohibited substances
substances whose use is regulated by law
chemicals known to be harmful to health (but not yet regulated by law)
as well as parameters for health protection.
Do mattresses and accessories need to be certified? Oeko-Tex is not a mandatory certification; many companies, especially lesser-known ones, seek certification to offer their customers additional reassurance.
Eco Institut Certificate
Eco Institut natural latex product certification, 100% natural latex, minimum 97% in Gabrielli Bedding mattresses.
The eco-INSTITUT certification is a program that tests products for emissions, pollutants, and hazardous chemicals. Certification is awarded to products that meet higher standards for materials and manufacturing.
How the certification works
Manufacturers submit a declaration of all materials used in the product. An independent body collects a sample of the product from the manufacturer. The product is tested for:
Volatile organic compounds (VOCs)
Persistent organic pollutants
Heavy metals
Pesticides
Phthalates
Formaldehyde
Gomma Gomma Srl's Latex-cell natural latex sheets in Gabrielli Bedding mattresses have Eco Institut certification.
Certiquality
Among the certifications, Certiquality certifies quality in: Research and development, production and sale of flexible polyurethane foams. Certificate issued to Orsa Foam Spa, which produces the polyurethane components (i.e. Memory, Memory Waterlily etc.) used to make Gabrielli branded products, among others.
CERTIPUR Certification
CertiPUR is a voluntary testing, analysis, and certification program concerning the environmental sustainability, safety, and healthfulness of polyurethane foam used in the production of mattresses and upholstered furniture. CertiPUR specifies substances that are not allowed to be used in the production of polyurethane foams and establishes rigid maximum levels for certain components.
CertiPUR is a registered trademark of EUROPUR. Only foam manufacturers certified and compliant with CertiPUR standards are authorized to use the CertiPUR logo. This right can be transferred to customers who produce pillows and mattresses and who purchase certified foam, provided that the logo appears only on products made exclusively with such foam. This is why the CertiPUR logo can be found on furniture components and mattresses that are not necessarily sold by a brand directly holding the label.
Transparency The system guarantees maximum transparency. It is based on clear criteria that require companies to comply with parameters relating to substances, contained in foams, that could be harmful to health or the environment. Foams produced by label holders are verified annually by independent laboratories to ensure that they continue to comply with CertiPUR specifications. If a company fails the checks, it must remedy them immediately. In case of a second failure, the company is excluded from the CertiPUR system and loses the right to use its label. Similar labels Purchasing a mattress or furniture component bearing the CertiPUR logo guarantees that the foam contained complies with the strict CertiPUR specifications. However, other certificates may be present on mattresses or furniture items, as some systems analyze all components present within a product (fabrics, etc.). Two systems with similar quality requirements for polyurethane foams are, in particular, Oeko Tex 100 and the EU Ecolabel. NB: Miglior Materasso Srl (hereinafter the company) ensures that the companies present on the site manufacture their articles to protect the environment, workers, and, last but not least, their customers. The raw materials used by the companies featured on the site are of Italian origin, with the exception of some precious raw materials and noble fibers of higher quality if of foreign origin (e.g. Polish goose down for the production of quilts with a higher fill power, weight/warmth ratio). The certifications and related certificates published have not been issued to the company but to the manufacturing companies with which the company works, and in some cases, the images are purely illustrative and do not correspond to a certificate issued to one of these.
Waterlily™
of which ORSA Foam S.p.A. is the exclusive licensee for production and branding in Italy, is a technologically advanced material, designed to offer the highest performance in the mattress and furniture sectors.
You will find this label on numerous Gabrielli articles; the name of the mattress, topper, or pillow made with these foams and Memory will always carry the "Waterlily" designation.
The particular formulation of these foams represents the most advanced development in environmental protection thanks to:
- expansion exclusively based on water and/or carbon dioxide;
- absence of CFCs and other harmful blowing agents;
- absence of halogenated substances;
- absence of phosphorus-based substances;
- compliance with the requirements of Oeko Tex Standard 100, Class IV (RdP no. 030992.O).
All this is combined with excellent characteristics of comfort, well-being and reliability ensured by:
- high breathability thanks to an open cell structure that ensures free air passage and rapid heat and moisture dispersion;
- excellent elasticity that allows it to firmly support and at the same time gently embrace different body areas, adapting perfectly to them;
- characteristics of resistance to wet aging, permanent deformation and dynamic fatigue at the top of the range of expanded materials currently on the market, which ensures the maintenance of initial characteristics over time;
- fire behavior characteristics according to some of the most important regulations in the sector (please note that the user must verify the suitability of the material for the particular use to be made of it).
