WHAT IS MEMORY FOAM?
It is a new type of viscoelastic polyurethane foam with slow memory, high density, and conforming properties, often found in modern mattresses, either as a main component (upper slab of the mattress core, with a variable thickness from 3 to 8 cm) or as padding for the winter side of the mattress, sewn and quilted into the fabric. One of the main characteristics of Memory Foam is a resilience value very close to zero, which allows it to conform to the shape of the body it supports, without oscillations or bouncing, thus absorbing the movements of a partner without disturbing the sleep of the other. Therefore, every part of the body is supported according to the weight and pressure exerted.
Features and Benefits of the Best Memory Foam Mattresses
The best Memory Foam is open-cell, meaning it is porous and breathable to eliminate problems related to heat or humidity, which are typical of inexpensive Memory Foam mattresses. Quality is also measured in density Kg/m3 (kilograms per cubic meter). Good memory foam has a minimum density of 50 kg/m3. Lower is considered economical. Inexpensive memory foam mattresses are very hot in summer because they are not very breathable and have low density, so they might quickly lose their slow memory properties.
