Divan bed without headboard
Beds with a minimal footprint
Beds without a headboard with a minimal footprint are beds whose overall dimensions equal those of the mattress, i.e. available with a "flush" base which represents the bed's maximum footprint; generally they are wooden divan beds, or fabric divan beds with the base set flush within the bed frame.
For example, if the mattress measures 160x190, the bed also measures 160x190 or just a few centimetres more. An example of a fabric bed with a minimal footprint, as in the image, is available in our catalogue (made by Gabrielli Bedding).
Fabric divan bed without headboard
Fabric storage bed to save space in width and length
Zero-footprint wooden bed
The wooden version of the bed without headboard takes up no space beyond what is needed to support the mattress, and allows a more spacious storage compartment because the base rests on top of the storage box, as in the image below:
Bed the same size as the mattress
The mattress measures 160x190, so how big is the bed? Generally 170x200 cm, i.e. 10 cm more in both width and length, plus the depth of the headboard, if it is a bed with a headboard. We have a storage bed in our catalogue with the same footprint as the mattress, so with no additional footprint beyond what is needed to hold the mattress.
Bed made to measure to the centimetre
On request we can make special sizes, beds made to measure to the centimetre, with exactly the footprint you want
Sizes of beds without headboard and divan bed prices
A divan bed without a headboard is characterised by taking up little more space than the mattress's usable support area. The standard bed frame, i.e. the padded wooden surround covered with fabric or faux leather, can increase the footprint of the whole bed by 5 to 10 cm, to be added to the slatted base or bed base. So if the mattress support surface is given as 160x190 cm, the bed's footprint could be 168x200 cm, for example. Always check the features and specifications of the divan bed.
Divan bed height
The height of the bed frame, generally 28 to 32 cm, is important especially for a storage divan bed: the higher it is, the more spacious it is inside. But it also determines the height from the floor, which also varies depending on the feet. Feet of your choice, from 6 or 10 cm up to 12 cm, for easy cleaning under the bed. Feet 14 cm high or more on storage divan beds would make the bed unstable, because they would raise its centre of gravity. Double beds or small double beds of 120 cm or 140 cm, the latter also known as French double. Beds strictly with a sturdy bed base with a double beam under the slats for the 140 cm, 160 cm and 180 cm double models. Made-to-measure divan beds too.
