High mattresses

How high should a mattress be to ensure a good rest? Generally the best mattresses have an average height between 24 and 28 cm, it is an ideal height to ensure the right compromise between thickness and quality.

Let's look at the height of the spring mattress for example: spring height 15 cm, layers of aquafoam and/or memory 3 cm per side, padding and covering fabric 2.5 cm per side, total 26 cm.

A good quality mattress must have a height greater than 20 cm for memory mattresses, from 24 cm upwards for pocket spring mattresses.

The height of the mattress is equal to the quality of the mattress only if more materials or internal layers justify the high thickness or imply more elaborate workmanship, in which case it also has a higher cost. To be clear, a sheet of simple 50 cm-thick foam rubber covered is certainly a high mattress, but it is not a good mattress.
