Excellence Simmons

When the Simmons pocket spring mattress is recommended

Simmons mattresses are often available in two firmness versions ("firmness", stiffness or, more precisely, degree of support). The high-end models, starting from Simmons Supreme, Simmons Plenitude and Excellence, therefore share these two options. Only the Gran Tradition is also available in Soft, even more welcoming than the medium. Below are some specifications of the Excellence model, which you will also find useful when choosing the firmness of the other models mentioned.

The Simmons Excellent Smart pad mattress has all the qualities expected of top-of-the-range mattresses: comfort and support, comfort and durability, breathability and depth. Let's look specifically at who it is recommended for:

Heavier people: it is suitable, but choose it in the firm version. If your body mass index is 25 or above and below 30, i.e. overweight but below obesity, it is suitable: you will find it pleasantly supportive but not hard, thanks to the combined action of the Bi-active Smart Response® independent springs and the Trycel Memored® memory foam, which supports the body while cradling it in a calibrated way.

Side Sleeper: if you sleep on your side you will really appreciate it in the medium firmness version, especially if you are of normal weight or overweight (but not obese). If you generally prefer hard mattresses, out of habit or because you feel better on hard mattresses in general, choose it in the firm version, even if you sleep on your side. If you sleep on your back it will be excellent, but if you sleep on your front firm is always better, so that your back does not arch.

If you have back pain: people with back problems do not need a specific mattress but, as for those in more or less good health, the right mattress must be able to support without compressing, all the more so if you suffer from lower back pain or sciatica. The mattress must be well calibrated so as not to compress sensitive points such as the joints, which can become more sensitive with age or illness, and vertebrae with more or less painful herniated or bulging discs. This mattress performs very well: combining support and comfort, it is also suitable for those with back pain or spinal conditions, except in cases to be assessed with your orthopaedic specialist, therapist or physiatrist.

Alternatives to the Simmons Excellence mattress? Gabrielli King Superior 1600

According to our comparative tests, King Superior 1600 offers a comfort response very close to Simmons Excellence, thanks to the progressive support of the independent springs, the memory foam layer and the welcoming feel of the removable Soft Touch top pad.
Both are responsive mattresses, able to adapt quickly to the body and make changes of position easier. King Superior 1600, however, gives a slightly crisper and more uniform feel, while Excellence has a more differentiated and articulated response thanks to its BiActive Smart Response spring technology. In the medium firmness version, Simmons Excellence is more enveloping than King 1600, while in the firm version its response is very similar.

Migliormaterasso recommends: a Simmons mattress is synonymous with quality; those who choose Simmons know they are not settling. It is important to know that if you bought a Simmons more than 10 years ago, you may find the same mattress in the catalogue today, but with noticeable differences and with model variants whose firmness and covers have quite different characteristics; if you have any doubts, contact us via chat or by phone and we will help you choose.
