Natural comfort on both sides
Crinelle by Gabrielli is a reversible natural topper, approximately 6 cm deep, handmade with horsehair, virgin wool and English Cheviot wool inside a breathable linen and cotton cover.
Its two sides provide different comfort sensations. The horsehair side feels more resilient and ventilated, while the wool side provides a softer and more welcoming surface.
Crinelle can be used throughout the year to add a breathable natural layer to your mattress, without polyurethane foam, synthetic padding or adhesives between the filling layers.
Three layers of natural filling
The internal construction combines three layers of natural materials, individually arranged and finished by hand.

Handmade in Italy
The horsehair and wool are carefully selected before being arranged inside the linen and cotton cover. The central wool layer separates the two comfort sides and helps preserve the stability of the filling.
The final tufting is completed by hand using a needle and strong thread. This traditional construction keeps the natural fibres in position without gluing them to polyurethane layers.
As Crinelle is handmade from natural fibres, small differences in height, weight and finishing are normal characteristics of artisanal production.
The natural properties of horsehair
Horsehair has a naturally resilient structure. It compresses under body weight and tends to recover its shape, providing responsive support without the enveloping feeling associated with memory foam.
Its open structure promotes airflow and helps moisture disperse more quickly. This is why horsehair has traditionally been used in high-quality natural mattresses and toppers.
Documented moosburger® horsehair quality
The horsehair used in Crinelle is supplied with a moosburger® quality certificate.
According to the certificate, the material undergoes continuous internal quality controls and meets requirements exceeding the ÖNORM S1690 standard. It is hygienically processed and washed with natural soap, without chemical additives during treatment or processing.
The material is controlled in accordance with European Union veterinary requirements under Veterinary No. AT TE80179EG, with OETI reference 148589.
How to use Crinelle
Crinelle can be placed on pocket spring, microcoil, latex or foam mattresses, regardless of their firmness level.
Simply lay the topper directly on the mattress. Friction between the surfaces, together with a correctly fitted mattress protector, helps keep it in position.
Elastic corner straps are not used because they could compress and distort the natural filling. Their absence also allows both sides of the topper to be used freely.

Care and maintenance
Rotate the topper from head to foot at least once every two months. Gently shaking it, as you would a duvet, helps redistribute and revive the natural filling.
Turn it over periodically to alternate between the wool and horsehair sides according to the season and your preferred comfort.
Body weight and comfort
The final comfort depends on both body weight and the characteristics of the mattress underneath. Crinelle can also be used by heavier sleepers, although above approximately 130 kg the soft, cushioning effect may feel less noticeable.
Standard and custom sizes
Crinelle is available in the main Single, Double, European King and Super King sizes. Its artisanal construction also allows custom dimensions up to 240 × 220 cm.

Shipping
The topper is shipped rolled, but not vacuum packed, with internal protective wrapping and an external cardboard package.
As Crinelle is handmade, production time must be added to the estimated delivery time. Available shipping services and costs are shown in the cart and at checkout.
U.S. import duties included
We ship to the United States with DHL Express. U.S. import duties are included in the price and paid directly by us, so you will not be asked to pay additional import duties before delivery.
Shipping charges and any applicable sales tax are calculated and shown separately at checkout.
Natural materials that can be reused
The horsehair and wool can be recovered, carded again and reused to produce a new topper, mattress or other naturally filled product. This extends the useful life of the materials and reduces unnecessary waste.
